Welcome to the 2012 Club Ohio Nike Challenge Cup

We are pleased to announce the 2012 Club Ohio Nike Challenge Cup Field. Once again, it looks to be a great field! We're looking forward to April!

All teams and divisions can be seen on the left-hand side in the drop-down menu. All accepted teams were sent an email with acceptance instructions (must confirm attendance online) and a separate email with registration instructions.

Registration Instructions


Now that you’ve been accepted to the 2012 Club Ohio Nike Challenge Cup, make sure you understand our registration requirements.

Registration Options:
1. Mail-in Registration
2. Email Registration
3. In-person Registration – Friday, 4/20/12 for the girls and 4/27/12 for the boys.

Mail-in Registration:
All required paperwork must be mailed in by 4/6/12 for the girls and 4/13/12 for the boys. A complete list of required documentation is listed below. Please mail to:

Email Registration

In-Person Registration
You are welcome to attend in-person registration on the Friday night before the tournament.

Girls Registration will be held on Friday, 4/20/12 from 6:30-9:30pm at the Embassy Suites Dublin – 5100 Upper Metro Place, Dublin, OH 43017.

Boys Registration will be held on Friday, 4/27/12 from 6:30-9:30pm at the Marriott Northwest – 5605 Blazer Parkway, Dublin, OH 43017.

Required Documentation

1. Registration Checklist – This MUST be completed by EVERY team and will serve as a guide for your paperwork.
2. Team Roster – a copy of your stamped/approved team roster from your state association (USYS) or US Club Soccer. One copy must be turned in with registration documents. ALWAYS have one on hand at the fields. Foreign teams MUST provide a stamped roster from their governing association. Please note that max roster size (including guests) is: 6v6 – 12 players, 8v8 14 players, 11v11 – 18 players. No exceptions.
3. Guest Player Roster – A guest player roster must be approved by your state association if you are using a USYS roster. Please consult your state association Web site for the form. For US Club, please provide a copy of the player loan form. Our maximum number of guests is 4. Please note that if you use a USYS roster, your guests must be carded USYS through a state association. If you use US Club roster, your guest must have a US Club card. You may not mix the two.
4. Player and Coach Cards – Each rostered player, guest and coach must have a state association or US Club approved player card. For mail-in and email registration, copies both front and back must be sent in. For in person registration, you may present the cards – no copies required.
5. Medical Release Forms – NEW this year. We will not ask for copies if you are emailing or mailing in your registration. Nor will you be required to present them at registration. Rather, we will ask you if you have them for each player. Please note that by carrying these for players you can expedite medical treatment if a parent is not present. If you need a blank medical release form. It is available on our Web site.
6. Travel Permit – If you are attending our tournament and do not play in Ohio South, you must submit a TEAM travel permit from your home state association. Please consult your state association Web site to obtain this form. Also, please be aware that these are not parent permission forms but team permission forms. US Club rostered teams do not need this form.
7. Foreign Teams – Provide a copy of your Provincial or National Association approving your team’s request to participate in this event.
8. Soccer First Waiver – Please complete with parent signatures if your team plays at this location. Soccer First only houses 11v11 fields.

Boys Weekend Hotel Availability

Many hotels are selling out and only taking names on the waiting list right now. Therefore, we'll keep a list of hotels that have openings here. You may still add your name to the waiting list at other hotels, but this may save you a few phone calls.

* Crowne Plaza Dublin: SATURDAY ONLY - 60 King rooms with airbeds - may be suitable to OH teams only desiring to stay on Saturday night.

* Ramada North: 23 rooms available

*Baymont Inn: 8 double rooms and 10 Kings

* Hyatt Place Columbus /Worthington: 8 Kings left

Nike Cup Updates - Hotels and Acceptance

We want to thank everyone for applying for the 2012 Club Ohio Nike Challenge Cup. We are very excited about the quality of teams and level of competition! Here are just a few updates to keep you in the loop about what's next.

1. ACCEPTANCES - We hope to send out acceptance notices around 2/20/12. We are trying to finalize our divisions so you may view this at that time. If this gets behind schedule, we'll let you know.

2. PAYMENT - We are still working through the over 600 payments. Please be patient with this process. We will notify you if there is an issue for your team.

3. BOYS WEEKEND HOTELS - Many hotels are selling out and only taking names on the waiting list right now. Therefore, we'll keep a list of hotels that have openings here. You may still add your name to the waiting list at other hotels, but this may save you a few phone calls.

* Comfort Inn North/Polaris: 5 rooms

* Crowne Plaza Dublin: SATURDAY ONLY - 60 King rooms with airbeds - may be suitable to OH teams only desiring to stay on Saturday night.

* Baymont Inn/Suites North: 20 double bed rooms, 10 king bed with pullout sofa available.

* Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark Resort: 40 rooms; standard room 2 queen size beds or one king with sleeper sofa

*Drury Inn and Suites Dublin: 19 Kings available

* Ramada North: 23 rooms available

* Wingate by Wyndham (Polaris): 10 double bed rooms

* Four Points by Sheraton Columbus Airport: 20 Queen bed rooms and 10 King Bed Rooms.

Plans are Underway for the 2012 Nike Challenge Cup

Welcome to the 2012 Club Ohio Nike Challenge Cup. As you can tell, our name has changed slightly as our club moved from the name, "Team Ohio FC" to "Club Ohio." It's still the same spring tournament put on by the same club - just a slightly different name.

We're just beginning preparations for the 2012 tournament and we expect it to be bigger, better and with any luck - a bit dryer! Just a few quick notes:

1. We'll be offering a U12 11v11 division again. Therefore, it's very important to specify 11v11 on your application if you wish to play in this division. This can be selected in the drop-down box for level of play.

2. We'll be offering a U8 division this year.

3. For both U8 and U9, we will not be calling offside.

4. We are in the process of building our hotel list. Therefore, only a few hotels are showing on the list. Continue to check back as we'll be updating this through October.

5. We'll once again be working with coaches to minimize scheduling conflicts. However, we are establishing a few ground rules. We characterize a conflict as the same coach coaching more than one team participating in our tournament. We will only try to minimize the conflicts of the teams playing in the tournament. So, if they have another team participating in a league game, we will not be scheduling around that. It also means that outside commitments for the coaches are not applicable. Coaches with only two teams will be the simplest to accommodate and will likely have few if any conflicts. Those with three or more becomes more complex and we cannot guarantee conflicts. And in some cases our best accommodation may be close/overlap games. Finally, we require a request to accommodate these situations by the application deadline. Please notify us by placing a note in the comments section, include the coach name and the teams impacted. You may also send a note to the tournament director through the Web site.
